Another proposal, as the Panel showed, is to transfer monitoring centers from Smart Sampa, CET (Traffic Engineering Company), CGE (Climate Emergency Management Center) and SPTrans (public transport management) to Palácio dos Correios.
Since the beginning of this mandate and on the eve of the election year, the government has prioritized investments in the security area. The estimated budget for the department in 2026 is R$1.83 billion compared to R$1.45 billion sanctioned by Nunes for this year.
In addition to boosting spending on monitoring, the mayor also plans to inject R$370 million for the delegated operation, in addition to providing R$92.30 million for the maintenance and operation of the Metropolitan Civil Guard and R$6.39 million for Civil Defense.
To the Panel, the city hall says that the budget proposal “is up to a series of new structural and technological investments planned for the Smart Sampa program.”
Among the actions, the management cites the change of the central office to the Palácio dos Correios, the increase in the number of cameras and the “incorporation of new artificial intelligence technologies to protect citizens, combat crime and support security forces”.
“The planned resources are in line with the current management’s commitment to expanding the use of cutting-edge technological tools to improve public security policies in the capital”, says the Nunes management.
