One elderly man was arrested red handedthis Sunday morning (26), after confessing to killing a young man with a mortadella sandwich poisoned with pellets. According to the author, the victim committed thefts from the perpetrator’s housein the interior of Mato Grosso do Sul. He was arrested less than an hour after the crime.
The arrest was carried out by Bataguassu Civil Policethrough the GIS (General Investigations Sector).
The investigation teams were called immediately and traveled to the location where the victim had been found unconscious. Despite relief efforts, the young man died.
During the preliminary investigations, including a mortadella sandwich that, according to the investigation, contained the substance used for poisoning.
Upon being interrogated and confronted with the evidence, the the police for the act, detailing that he used a toxic substance mixed with the food.
The suspect, who has severe physical disability resulting from a stroke, he was taken to the police station.
Motivation
According to the defendant’s testimony, the motivation of the crime would be the “reiterated threats, invasions and thefts” that he had been suffering from the young man.
The victim, aged 22, was known in police circles for being a drug user and for being involved in several thefts in the region, including being named as a suspect for stealing power cables from public lighting posts in the municipality.
The elderly man was arrested in the act through the practice of homicide qualified by the use of poisona crime provided for in article 121, paragraph 2, item III, of the Penal Code.
It remains at the disposal of the Court for other legal measures. The investigation continues so that all details are completely elucidated.
