Galvão Bueno did not hide his emotion after winning João Fonseca at the ATP 500 in Basel. Through a post on social media, the communicator surrendered to the talent of the 19-year-old, who beat Davidovich Fokina in the final this Sunday (26).

This was the second title of the 19-year-old’s professional career and the most important yet. In February 2025, João had won the ATP 250 in Buenos Aires by defeating Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo.
The Brazilian achieved another feat. In addition to being one of the youngest players in history in the final, João broke a record for Brazilian tennis. With the victory over Munar, he becomes the first tennis player from Brazil to reach a one-way decision.
