The Brazilian women’s football team completed the pair of friendlies they played in Europe in recent days with 100% success. The victim this Tuesday (28) was Italy, defeated 1-0 at the Ennio Tardini stadium, in Parma, with a goal scored by striker Luany.
The team had defeated England 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, in Manchester, on Saturday (25), and triumphed again away from home. It was another result celebrated by coach Arthur Elias, who regretted, however, the injury to Laís Estevam – the attacker left the pitch crying.
Brazil, which occupies seventh place in the FIFA (International Football Federation) ranking, demonstrated superiority in relation to Italy, 12th. But the Italians, who reached the semi-finals of the recent European Championship, created difficulties for their opponents, especially in the first half.
There was balance in the initial stage, and it was only after the break that the visitors managed to impose themselves. Luany’s speed was much greater than that of her markers, which generated multiple opportunities.
In one of the plays involving Atlético de Madrid’s speedy 22-year-old striker, the ball reached Dudinha, who attempted a cross from the left twice, in the 22nd minute of the second half. On the second attempt, Luany appeared free to complete.
There were still opportunities, but the score did not change again at Ennio Tardini, where Brazil obtained its second consecutive triumph of relevance. The previous one, in England, was obtained against the current European champion and fourth place in the ranking.
The bad news was the injury to Laís Estevam, who was left on the pitch after a dispute with Cantore, at the beginning of the second stage. The athlete was replaced in tears, with her hand on her right knee, with the suspicion of a more serious problem.
