The chef Erick Jacquin60, presenter of “MasterChef Brazil” and the “Nightmare in the Kitchen”detonated French bread consumed in Brazil during his participation in the “Facing with Blogueirinha”shown on Dia TV on Monday (27).
Without mincing words, Jacquin said: “The bread here is bad. Is the one they call French good? It’s shit. Sometimes I eat it because there’s nothing else… I live next to a bakery and the bread is terrible.”
The statement divided opinions. While part of the public reacted with indignation to the criticism of the most consumed bread in the country, others came to the chef’s defense.
“You don’t talk about my bread, okay? I love bread with butter, bread with eggs, bread with cheese, plain bread”, protested an internet user. Another asked: “Why doesn’t he make his own bread then?”
There were also those who agreed: “Depending on where you buy it, it’s really horrible” and “I agree with him! There are breads here that are really bad!”, wrote some users.
Érick Jacquin says that the bread in Brazil is bad:

The relaxed conversation yielded the chef’s opinion on several topics: the comparison between Band’s and Rede Globo’s, the story of how he brought petit gâteau to Brazil, the closure of one of his restaurants and, of course, what was the most disgusting thing he’s ever seen on “Kitchen Nightmare”.
