Important roads were closed in retaliation throughout Greater Rio.
The Ceará Football Federation (FCF) contacted the Brazilian Football Confederation in search of clarification. The entity, however, ruled out the possibility of postponing the game at this timereinforcing that the confrontation continues according to the scheduled schedule.
The Ceará delegation traveled to Rio in the afternoon and is following the situation closely. The black and white board is maintaining contact with authorities, but so far has not received any official communication from the CBF about a possible change in the date or location of the match. Behind the scenes, the club states that the priority is the safety of the athletes and everyone involved.
Rio de Janeiro today: city clubs are affected
Meanwhile, the violent scenario impacted the sporting routine in Rio. Botafogo and Vasco suspended the activities of the youth teams and released employees.
Fluminense only trained in the morning and chose not to carry out any other activities for the rest of the day. Flamengo is already outside the country, concentrated in Argentina for their commitment to the Libertadores.
Despite the atmosphere of apprehension, the expectation is that Fluminense x Ceará will be held without complications, if the situation in the city stabilizes by Wednesday night.
