The alert was given at 3:55 pm. The victim was found in cardiorespiratory arrest under the vehicle by firefighters, who attempted resuscitation maneuvers without success.
A 75-year-old woman died this Thursday after being run over by her own vehicle, a Civil Protection source told Lusa.
“When we arrived, the lady was under her own vehicle in cardiorespiratory arrest. The concern was to remove the lady and carry out all the resuscitation maneuvers”, the deputy head of the Vila Nova de Paiva Volunteer Fire Department told the Lusa agency.
Armando Pina also indicated that “the lady’s death was declared on the spot by the INEM doctor [Instituto Nacional de Emergência Médica]” and that the National Republican Guard (GNR) investigation team was called.
“The lady was 75 years old and was from Queiriga”, the village where the collision occurred, added Armando Pina.
The village of Queiriga is also the seat of a parish, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Paiva, district of Viseu.
According to a source from the Viseu Dão Lafões Sub-regional Command of Civil Protection, the alert was given at 3:55 pm and 11 operatives were mobilized to the location, supported by four vehicles from the Vila Nova de Paiva Volunteer Fire Department, GNR and INEM.
