The scholarship is aimed at professionals with at least five years of professional experience — including freelancers — and does not require a university degree. The subsidy is US$130,000 (around R$690,000) for the period, in addition to monthly fees and health insurance for the scholarship holder, spouse and children.
The program seeks professionals willing to rethink the role of journalism in the face of challenges such as misinformation, intolerance, coverage gaps and sustainability of local media.
