A police operation on the A7 motorway in France last Wednesday revealed details of an impressive pursuit of drug traffickers. On October 4, a driver of a BMW X4 tried to prevent his capture by throwing Roman caltrops, sharp metal triangles, onto the road to puncture the tires of the police who were chasing him.
Despite the method, the agents quickly intercepted the vehicle and found 450 kilos of cannabis resin packed in sports bags in the trunk. In the following days, the three occupants of the beater car were arrested and authorities continue to investigate possible accomplices in France and Spain.
