Series A of the Brazilian Championship is in the final stretch, and Bahia and RB Bragantino are once again face to face, this time for the 31st round. This Sunday’s duel (2) is scheduled for 4pm (Brasília time) and will be held at Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador.
With 49 points in 30 games, Bahia is in 5th place and remains firmly in the fight for a direct place in the Copa Libertadores. If RB Bragantino wins, the team will resume its position as the best home team in the competition, surpassing Cruzeiro and Palmeiras.
RB Bragantino is in free fall. There are three defeats in a row, against Vasco, Juventude and Palmeiras, which resulted in the dismissal of coach Fernando Seabra. 12th place with 36 points, Massa Bruta has the debut of Vagner Mancini in charge of the team.
How does Bahia arrive?
Coach Rogério Ceni will not be able to count on striker Ademir, who will serve an automatic suspension due to the accumulation of yellow cards. Midfielder Everton Ribeiro participated in the last training session and could appear among those listed.
Three other athletes are absent for clinical reasons: right-back Gilberto, midfielder Caio Alexandre and striker Sanabria. Striker Ruan Pablo is with the Brazilian Under-17 team and is also out of the match.
The good news for the coach is the return of striker Erick Pulga, who is recovered after almost three months away from the field due to a strain in the hamstring of his left thigh.
How RB Bragantino arrives
Newcomer Mancini will not be able to count on midfielder Jhon Jhon, who received his third yellow card in the last round, against Vasco, and will serve an automatic suspension.
