The singer’s Brazilian fans were taken by surprise with some very encouraging news. The singer announced in the early hours of this Tuesday (11/4), through Instagram stories, that she will not be able to attend the long-awaited premiere of , in São Paulo, after a technical problem forced her team to disembark the plane. “I’m devastated that I couldn’t make it in time,” she wrote.
According to the artist, all flight options were exhausted. “I’m heartbroken for not being able to be there with you”, said the interpreter of , asking fans to celebrate the moment with the film’s cast.

“I can’t believe this is happening and I’m devastated to be sending this message. A few hours ago, my team and I had to disembark from our flight as they had to do maintenance on the plane due to a security issue and it won’t take off until 11am tomorrow, which means I won’t be there in time for the São Paulo premiere,” Ariana began.
“My team and Universal tried everything they could to resolve this. We looked at every other flight, night flight, early morning flight, connecting flight, commercial flight, and also private options, and absolutely nothing was available or possible to get us there on time. Even though we tried a private option, a permit is required to fly from here, which takes time to obtain. I’m heartbroken that I can’t be there with you. We sincerely tried everything we could, and I apologize from the bottom of my heart,” she said.
Finally, Ariana asks fans to enjoy the premiere with her co-stars, Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba), Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero), who will be in the country. “Please show my amazing castmates all the love I wish I could show you and have the most beautiful celebration. And again, I’m so, so sorry,” she concluded. The event will take place this Tuesday (04/11), at Suhai Music Hall, in São Paulo.
