Franco Delgado: quem é o jogador que pode receber R$ 700 mil do Corinthians image

O Corinthians was ordered by the Labor Court to pay more than R$700,000 to Uruguayan striker Franco Delgado20 years old, former player of the under-20 team. The decision is of first instance and can still be appealed.

Delgado was hired in March 2024, with Danúbio-URU, and obtained an indirect termination of the contract in June this year, alleging that Corinthians did not make FGTS (Service Time Guarantee Fund) deposits on a regular basis. The contract would run until March 2027.

In the sentence, judge Rodrigo Rocha Gomes de Loiola confirmed the termination and ordered Corinthians to pay amounts relating to notice, fines, FGTS and other labor funds.

The athlete’s lawyer, Filipe Rino, presented a calculation of R$706,498.61, an amount that includes monetary correction, fees and legal costs. Corinthians informed that it will not comment on the case.

How long Didn’t Franco Delgado receive FGTS?

In the process to obtain indirect termination, the Uruguayan assured that he had “several months” of arrears in the FGTS. The club recognized the absence in the deposits for May, June and December 2024, in addition to January, February, March and April 2025. According to the Pelé Law (Law 9,615/1998, article 31), if the club delays the salary or image rights for three months or more, the contract may be terminated.

Corinthians, in defense, assured that the player wanted to avoid paying compensation for breaking the contract and stated that his wages were up to date.

Developed by Danúbio-URU and having spent time with Uruguay’s youth team, Franco Delgado, 1.83m tall, played just 13 games and scored two goals for the Corinthians under-20 team. After leaving the club, he joined Cerro Largo-URU in August.

At Cerro Largo, already playing as a professional, he has only played three games so far, all coming off the bench, and spending just seven minutes on the field.
