I love any snacks made from puff pastry – when I’m expecting guests, I usually make something like this. This time I also used surimi in the recipe and the effect was great.

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry,
  • 12 surimi crab sticks,
  • 1 egg,
  • 2 tablespoons of white sesame,
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated garlic.

Unroll the dough and cut into long strips, approx. 2 cm wide. There should be about the same number of surimi sticks.

Gently dry the crab sticks with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Take one strip of puff pastry and wrap it in a spiral around the surimi stick. Leave the ends uncovered. Subsequent dough spirals should overlap slightly to prevent the whole thing from unrolling after baking.

Place the next sticks in the dough on an oven tray lined with baking paper.

In a small bowl, whisk the egg and garlic. Generously spread the mixture on top of the snacks and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Place the puff pastry with surimi in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy.

Serve the dish warm, immediately after preparation, preferably with garlic or sweet chili sauce.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container and eat cold or warm, after warming gently.
