Viktor Vincze (34) already fulfilled a big dream while working in television, which eventually became his plan B. The former Markíza presenter became a pilot last year and is currently devoting himself fully to this profession. If anyone thought it was an easy job, they are very much mistaken. Flying deprives Vincze of precious time with his wife Adela Vinczeová (45) and their son Maxík (3).
He explained to his followers on Instagram what his work regime is now. His explanation will blow your mind. “There is an exact European regulation for that: I can be on duty for 60 hours in 7 days, but a maximum of 110 in 14 days, 190 in 28 days and 2000 in a calendar year. Plus, as part of that, I can have a maximum of 100 hours of flight (from engine start to shutdown) in 28 days, but a maximum of 900 in a calendar year and 1000 in 12 months. Simple, right?” Vincze wrote.
In addition, strict rules apply in the cockpit, which passengers are often unaware of. Viktor clarified what topics are taboo for pilots. “In general, we must avoid anything that could cause tension between us and thus endanger the safety of the flight. So yes, we have politics listed in the manuals as one of the examples of topics to avoid. Perhaps a similar manual would be suitable for every family for Sunday lunch.” he noted.
Vincze was also asked a direct question, which is sometimes difficult to answer. “Are you happy?” a follower asked the former face of Marquise. “I am perfectly healthy and so is my family. My wife is the most inspiring woman I know. We are raising a child together who has opened new chambers in my heart. And I am doing a job that is my childhood dream. So what do you think, am I happy?” Viktor confessed on the social network.
The path to the dream job was difficult and expensive. In order to become a commercial airline pilot, he had to pass tests that he compared to hell on earth. “But when it finally succeeds, it’s an incredible feeling,” he revealed. “I sat down at Boeing for the first time after about two and a half years, since I started my very first training on a small Cessna. And you have to gradually prepare about 70,000 euros,” he added.
