Renato Bolsonaro confirmed pre-candidacy for federal deputy for PL-SP
The former president (PL) was visited by his brother, Renato Bolsonaro, this Monday (3) at the Jardim Botânico in Brasília. It is the first time that the brothers have met since Jair is under house arrest: “The objective was to reactivate the brotherhood, it was a very good visit, we had not spoken in person for three months!”
The meeting, which lasted around four hours, was attended by the former first lady, Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) and her daughter Letícia, as well as security guards. Renato says that “Bolsonaro is very calm, he lost his freedom, it is a very difficult situation, he is not to blame, it is pure revanchism so that he does not participate in the 2026 elections”. Renato also said that his brother’s health has improved, although there are consequences.
Papuda next week
Asked if there was talk about the expectation that the former president would be transferred to the Papuda prison next week, Renato Bolsonaro said that they did not touch on this subject: “There is nothing to talk about. How will I help? Who will he turn to? Hope is the last thing to die.” Jair Bolsonaro also does not talk about a possible successor. Renato says that, to this day, his brother has not declined because he believes he can be President of the Republic again. Valdemar Costa Neto, PL leader, says the same thing: “If Lula was arrested and is now President, so can Jair Bolsonaro”.

The brothers also lined up next year’s political chess. Renato Bolsonaro said that he should run in the 2026 elections: “I accepted Valdemar’s (Costa Neto) invitation. My brother said that Valdemar needs responsible people, who fight for the country’s freedom, so I am a pre-candidate for federal deputy for PL for São Paulo”, he pointed out. Over the phone, about his brother, Renato ended the call and said that the moment is one of faith and hope.
