The president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil – AP), stated this Tuesday, 4th, that the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ) and the plenary of the Federal Senate will analyze, next week, the reappointment of Paulo Gonet as head of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).

Gonet has already served a term as Attorney General of the Republic and was once again recommended by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to resume command of the PGR.

Despite the president’s nomination, confirmation depends on the Senate, a process that begins in the CCJ and concludes in the plenary. If approved, Gonet will remain ahead of the PGR for another two years.
