Take it from the kitchen and put it on the windowsill. You will forget about wet windows and humidity

If we want to get rid of excess moisture from windows, we do not have to spend money on various types of absorbers. One thing from the kitchen is enough to effectively solve the problem in a cheap and reliable way. We tell you what to choose.

Very often during the heating season we can notice that the window panes are fogged up and condensation appears on the windowsills. This happens when the air in the house is too humid and the ventilation does not work efficiently. Contrary to appearances, this problem applies not only to old buildings, but also to new apartments, which simply have poor air circulation.

This condition is getting worse drying laundry at home, as well as cooking food without the hood turned on. The problem is also compounded by the lack of ventilation in the rooms. Then steam begins to settle on the coldest surfaces, i.e. windows and windowsills. If you see these symptoms, you should act immediately because it may happen lead to the formation of mold and even damage to windows.

To combat the problem of steam and moisture, we can use cheap and effective home remedies. We don’t have to use expensive solutions or moisture absorbers from the store. It turns out that all we need is a certain product from our kitchen. We’re talking about coarse salt. Preferably rock or sea salt in large crystals.

We can simply pour it into a bowl or, for example, put it in a bag or even a sock, tie it and put it on the windowsill. This method is very simple and very effective because the salt has strong hygroscopic propertieswhich makes it perfectly absorb moisture from the air. However, we must remember to replace the salt every few days so that it can still perform its function.

An absorber made of salt can be used not only on the windowsill. After placing it in a bag or sock we can hang it in different places in the apartmentto prevent moisture from forming.

It is a good idea to use salt, e.g. in bathrooms, pantries, basements or children’s rooms where we do not want to use any chemical agents. Some people also decide to hang this type of natural absorbers in the wardrobewhere moisture often contributes to unpleasant clothes.

This simple method with salt will prevent it the development of mold and fungi, and we will also improve our comfort. Getting rid of moisture is very important because its excess may contribute to more frequent colds or worsening allergies.
