Terrible disaster in Brazil! According to the local police, only a 9-year-old child fatally stabbed his mother († 37) after a conflict regarding his behavior. Witnesses said the dying Caline Arruda dos Santos asked the boy for a last hug after her son stabbed her in the stomach. Just before the terrible incident, she should have begged him to stop playing in the street, the portal informs about it.
Everything should have started when, in the house of her partner, the boy’s stepfather, she threatened her son that she would report his behavior to relatives, according to a Civil Police report cited by the Brazilian portal Metropoles. The boy was then supposed to go to the kitchen, take the knife and hide it under the long sleeve of his T-shirt. When the mother was standing with her eldest son (19) by the door leading to the street, he approached her and stabbed her in the stomach.
“Come here and give me one last hug because I’m not going to survive this,” said the mother in tears, according to one of the witnesses. A neighbor immediately took her to the emergency room, from where she was transferred to Parelheiros Hospital in Brazil. unfortunately upon arrival, the doctors only declared death. As the boy is under 12, he was not taken to the police station as he cannot be prosecuted in a juvenile court. She is currently in the care of the victim’s cousin.
In an interview with the media, she stated that the boy probably did not yet realize what he had done. “He only found out his mom died after another boy told him,” the relative added. The tragedy took place on Rua Gaspar Leme in the Parelheiros neighborhood in the south of São Paulo, and the police are still investigating the case.
The incident comes shortly after another shocking case – a teenager in the US faces charges of murdering her mother and stepfather. Sarah Patrick (17) was arrested after her mother Kirstin Brock († 41) and stepfather James Brock († 45) shot dead in their home in the US state of Georgia. In the courtroom, the teenager was supposed to smile, joke with another juvenile inmate and hug her lawyers, but later broke down in tears as she listened to testimony from a pastor, friends and the woman who sheltered her after the murders.
Sarah was arrested in July after her sister, six, found her parents’ bodies. She then called the police herself and later turned to true crime creators on TikTok to help solve the murders. She wrote to one of the bloggers under the name Sarah Grace and offered him information about the case, “I think that would be a big revelation,” added.
In addition, after their death, she shared touching posts on social networks in which she described her parents with love. “At night, when it’s quiet and the house is empty, I still think about how much I needed them,” she wrote on TikTok. “They have no idea that a year from now, me and my sister will find them unjustly shot in our house, and that they won’t be there when I graduate, get married, or say goodbye. I miss you, make room for me in heaven,” she added, also posting a series of photos of her mom and stepdad.
In the months that followed, she continued to post videos of her grief, including one of her crying with her mascara smudged. Sarah Patrick was charged as an adult with two counts of murder and two counts of assault with a weapon. Her trial is scheduled for January 5, 2026.
