Senate approved proposal that exempts Income Tax for those who receive up to R$5,000 per month; text goes to Lula’s sanction
The Senate approved this Wednesday (November 5, 2025) the text that expands the Income Tax exemption range for those who receive up to R$5,000 per month. The PL (bill) had been in the Chamber of Deputies on October 1st.
The proposal now goes to the president (PT) for approval.
The proposal also establishes a discount range. The government proposed that it cover those with a monthly income of R$5,000.01 to R$7,000. The rapporteur of the text in the Chamber, (PP-AL), expanded the IR discount range from R$5,000.01 to R$7,350.
