Flamengo finished 2-2 with São Paulo and saw Palmeiras increase their chances of winning the Brazilian title before even taking the field in the classic against Santos. The team now has 65 points, three less than the São Paulo leader. The fight for the top remains fierce between the two teams, with Cruzeiro also alive, but a little further away, with 63 points.
In the 32nd round of the Brazilian Championship, the red and blacks drew with São Paulo in Vila Belmiro by 2-2 and saw their chances of becoming champions fall. What was previously 34.11% is now just 23.32% with seven rounds remaining until the end of the competition.
Palmeiras, on the other hand, got the better of Santos 2-0, and guaranteed an increase in their title chances. Before it was 64.27%, now it has risen to 74.35%, according to Gato Mestre’s figures.
Brasileirão 2025 title chances
- Palmeiras – 61.1% (was 56.4%)
- Flamengo – 32.8% (was 41%)
- Cruzeiro – 5.9% (was 2.3%)

Can Flamengo regain leadership in the next round?
There are seven rounds left until the end of the championship. If Flamengo beats Santos in the next round, they will still be behind Palmeiras. This is because, even if the São Paulo team is defeated by Mirassol, it will remain with the same 68 points and more victories than the Rio team (21 to 20).
