Miguel Oliveira experienced a moment of strong emotion at the Portuguese Grand Prix, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, where he said goodbye to MotoGP in Portugal. In tears and holding the national flag, the Portuguese rider was warmly applauded by the fans who filled the stands to honor his career in the highest category of motorcycling.
Accompanied by his family, Miguel Oliveira thus ended an important cycle, as at the end of the season he will exchange MotoGP for the Superbike World Championship. In this Sunday’s race, the Pramac driver finished in 14th place, after starting from 19th on the grid.
It was a heartfelt and symbolic goodbye, on a circuit that has always had a special meaning for the Portuguese driver and for the fans who watched him grow up on the tracks.
