From Tuesday (11/11) to Thursday (13/11) selected train connections on the Košice – Spišská Nová Ves and Košice – Prešov – Lipany lines will be canceled in the Košice – Kysak section. Passengers can use Tatran long-distance express trains as a substitute, or other regional connections that will not be affected by the lockout. The Slovak Railway Company (ZSSK) informed about it.
Temporary restrictions on Os and REX regional trains between Košice and Kysak occur due to shutdown works at the Košice railway stationwhich is implemented by the railway infrastructure manager of the Slovak Railways (ŽSR).
ZSSK also informs that passengers who will use long-distance trains (Ex 603, Ex 612, Ex 620) in connection with the lockout can travel on these trains on the Košice – Kysak section without a seat in optional seat carriages. Passengers entitled to a 100% discount on the fare can only travel on the given section with a valid ID without the need to purchase a zero ticket.
“Trains Ex 603, Ex 612 and Ex 620 do not stop at the stations and stops of Trebejov, Kostoľany nad Hornádom and Ťahanovce. We recommend that passengers use other connections that are not affected by the lockout,” warned ZSSK spokesman Ján Baček.
