Interim financing agreement received 60 votes in favor and 40 against
The United States Senate approved a text that aims to end the budget shutdown, thanks to the support of a group of Democratic senators, now going to a vote in the Chamber of Representatives.
After a day of eight votes, the Senate approved the provisional financing agreement on Monday, with 60 votes in favor and 40 against.
The agreement, promoted by Republicans, with the support of eight Democrats, was reached on the 41st day of the Government shutdown, the longest in US history, and is now in the hands of the House of Representatives, which is expected to begin the session on Wednesday.
