A glass of water is enough for the anthurium to bloom like crazy

Anthurium is quite a mysterious plant for many people. It has specific requirements and most of the advice on caring for potted plants does not work at all for anthurium. And although it is a flower that we are more and more willing to grow in pots at home, ignorance of how to care for anthurium may result in the plant not blooming or even dying. Of course, as with other flowers we have at home, this one also needs to be provided with adequate space, hydration and nutrition. If we take care of the plant’s needs, it will reward us with beautiful red flowers that will literally drown our windowsill. AND? If your plant has not produced flowers yet, prepare a home-made fertilizer for it. It is extremely simple to prepare and can be invaluable for anthurium. All you need is a glass of water and rice.

Homemade anthurium conditioner will make it produce flowers

To prepare it at home, you need a glass of water and 1/2 cup of rice. Simply pour a glass of water over the rice and leave for 2 hours. During this time, the water will absorb the nutrients from the rice. Then strain the rice water, separating it from the rice, and dilute it with clean water in a 1:1 ratio. Water your anthurium with this conditioner. Repeat the treatment every 3 weeks and you will quickly notice new flowers on the plant. Why is it such a valuable nutrient for anthurium? It contains B vitamins, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium, which are necessary for healthy plant growth. This nutrient is rich in starch, which provides an energy source for microorganisms in the soil that help break down organic matter and release nutrients.

Anthurium care. What to do to make it bloom?

First of all, anthurium is a plant that requires a lot of light, but it also needs to be protected from direct sun rays, as they can cause burns to the leaves and flowers. The best place will be the windowsill of the eastern or western window. It is a thermophilic plant. The temperature that suits it best is 20-25 degrees Celsius. It does not tolerate drafts. Anthurium likes the soil to be constantly moist, but not too wet, as the roots rot easily. It is best to use boiled water at room temperature. The plant needs quite high air humidity, but it does not like sprinkling and soaking the leaves. Sprinkling your anthurium will make it more susceptible to disease and rot.
