Newspapers report attempted invasion of the Blue Zone, reserved for authorities and accredited press, by a group of 50 people

The incident between security guards at the (30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change) and a group of 50 protesters, on Tuesday (11.Nov.2025), in Belém (PA), was reported by international broadcasters and newspapers.

Second of Poder360participants in the Global Health and Climate March moved away from the main demonstration and headed towards the entrance of . The area has restricted access to negotiators, journalists and diplomats. It is necessary to have a credential issued by the UN (United Nations) to enter the site.

Some of the dissidents were Tapajós indigenous people and another part were members of the Juntos collective. Many wore t-shirts with Psol inscriptions. The term “Occupy COP” was used on social media after the incident. See images.

The British newspaper The Guardian mentioning a spokesperson for the UN (United Nations), who “2 security guards suffered minor injuries and there was minor damage to the event site”. Also according to the publication, “after the confrontation, the protesters left the place and uniformed Fire Department officers formed a cordon to block the entrance”.

The North American broadcaster CNN that protesters waved flags with phrases demanding rights, which read: “Our land is not for sale.” The network heard “an indigenous leader of the Tupinambá people, near the mouth of the Tapajós River, in Brazil, who uses only his first name”Gilmar. According to CNNGilmar said: “We can’t eat money […] We want our lands free from agribusiness, oil exploration, miners and illegal loggers”.

Helen Cristine, from the Juntos movement, linked to Psol, mentioned, in her speech, the oil exploration project in the Equatorial Margin, defended by the president (PT). “COP30 does not represent indigenous peoples. The organization is aimed at businesspeople. Oil exploration in Foz do Amazonas is destroying the environment”said Helen, according to the newspaper.
