They call it the “generators scandal in Kiev”. There is children nas daycare from the capital of Ukraine that go hungry due to the blackouts caused by Russian attacks.

There are more than 600 kindergartens in Kiev. Many are being conditioned (or even affected) because of the war.

In numerous attacks, Russia has targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Daycare centers either don’t have generators, or they do but it’s not enough.

There is three problems power plants: one of them is insufficient power – the generator only has enough power for lighting, but not for cooking hot food; or the lack of fuel, which was not purchased in time; or the shortage of specialists who know how to start and maintain the generator.

Os parents are shocked, portrays the channel: children go without breakfast.

“They are hungry”or are “mistreatment to children”, parents report in social media groups.

Parents claim that in some daycare centers, food for children is only prepared when there is light; If there is no light, no one prepares the food.

Also this Monday, the 10th, some educators were forced to asking parents to feed their children at home; because “there would be no breakfast at the institution”.

“Educators are writing very early: feed the children, because there is no light. Feeding them is not a problem. And then? What about the rest of the day? For working parents, this is already a big problem,” Olga, a resident of Kiev, wrote in a social media group.

TSN reports that many daycare centers in the capital are experiencing similar problems.

In one of these establishments, parents are “shocked” to see that, during alarms, when there is no light, children are forced to sit in a shelter – in a complete darkness.

“The city has been suffering from Russian attacks for several years, and the authorities had enough time to prepare for these types of problems”, says Svetlana, mother of a student at another daycare.

The Kyiv City Council guarantees that the matter is the responsibility of the district administrations.

Those responsible for the daycare centers only say that they have a generator, but don’t know if it is used for cooking.
