Brussels – As expected, Austria is among the worst performers in the EU in terms of economic development in 2026: The EU autumn economic forecast presented in Brussels on Monday predicts growth of 0.9 percent for Austria. Only Ireland with 0.2 and Italy with 0.8 percent perform worse. The growth engine is Malta with 3.8 percent; followed by Poland with 3.5 percent. A GDP increase of 1.4 percent is forecast for the entire EU and 1.2 percent for the Eurozone.
