Flowers often lie in front of the memorial to the murdered children of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo, which was besieged from 1992 to 1995. It is located in Veliki park (“big park”) – surrounded by trees, where stray dogs sometimes hide in holes. It is also surrounded by ancient gravestones that have been slowly sinking into the earth for centuries.
