Global plans cost $2.99 to $3.99 per month; Meta will also test subscriptions up to $49.99 for AI, creators and businesses
Meta announced, on Thursday (May 28, 2026), the global launch of paid versions for WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. The plans will be called WhatsApp Plus, Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus and will give access to extra features within the applications.
The launch, however, must occur gradually. The Plus versions for common users have started to be made available globally, but the company has not yet announced whether all users in Brazil can already subscribe to the plans. Availability may vary by account, country, operating system and app version.
Plans aimed at artificial intelligence, content creators and companies do not yet have a launch date in Brazil. According to the North American magazine specializing in technology, the Meta One Plus and Meta One Premium AI plans will initially be tested in Singapore, Guatemala and Bolivia.
The Meta One Essential and Meta One Advanced plans, aimed at creators and businesses, will begin in markets such as Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand and Bangladesh.
INSTAGRAM PLUS (U$ 3,99)
No subscribers will have access to additional features for stories and profile customization. Among them are:
- the possibility of seeing, in aggregate, how many people rewatched a story;
- create unlimited audience lists in addition to the “Close Friends” option;
- highlight a story per week to get more views;
- extend the duration of a story beyond the standard 24 hours;
- view stories without appearing in the spectators list;
- use animated reactions to messages and stories;
- change application icons;
- customize biography fonts and pin more items to the profile.
FACEBOOK PLUS (U$ 3,99)
Facebook’s will have a similar set of features to Instagram Plus. Features focus on interacting with storiespersonalization and audience metrics. The platform will also allow you to extend the duration of stories for 48 hours, send animated reactions, search names in the viewer list and see how many times a story was rewatched.
WHATSAPP PLUS ($2,99)
The signature of the plus must include:
- send premium stickers with special effects;
- choose unique themes and icons to customize the appearance of your WhatsApp;
- pin up to 20 conversations so that important conversations are at the top of your list;
- set premium ringtones for your most important contacts;
- Personalize conversation lists with custom alerts, ringtones, and themes.
AI PLANS
In addition to the paid versions of the 3 applications, Meta will begin testing plans aimed at intensive users of artificial intelligence. The Meta One Plus and Meta One Premium plans will cost US$7.99 and US$19.99 per month, respectively.
According to the TechCrunchthey will provide more capacity for queries that require greater processing, such as complex reasoning tasks, in addition to expanding the use of image and video generation with Meta AI in the company’s applications. The free version of the platform will continue to be available, but will have usage limits on features such as reasoning mode, image generation and video generation.
The company will also test plans for content creators and businesses. The $14.99 per month Meta One Essential will include a verification badge, impersonation protection, and an improved links page to direct users to profiles and external pages.
Meta One Advanced, priced at US$49.99 per month, will have these same benefits and will add features for greater exposure, such as better positioning in searches on Facebook and Instagram and a “Follow” button highlighted in Reels. It should also allow clickable links in Instagram posts and Reels.
The new subscriptions do not replace Meta Verified, Meta’s existing paid service focused on verification, impersonation protection and additional support.
