Cristiano Ronaldo’s most famous celebration echoed again at the Santiago Bernabéu, but this time it was not caused by the Portuguese player. Jack Jones, player for the Miami Dolphins, drove the stadium crazy when he celebrated a decisive play with the traditional cry “yes”, repeated in chorus by the fans present.
The 27-year-old cornerback was one of the figures in the Dolphins’ 16-13 victory over the Washington Commanders in overtime, and explained at the end of the meeting that he is not a keen follower of European football. Still, he said he admires some world stars, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior and Lukaku.
Jones said he knew the famous scream thanks to a Spanish friend, who showed him the gesture several years ago. He even admitted that some teammates joked with him by saying that the “yes” had been more memorable than the interception that decided the game.
The player also revealed how the connection with the Portuguese captain was born. It all started with a video game when I was a child. He said he played FIFA and clearly remembered seeing Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover. From that moment on, he became an admirer of the striker.
