Bird flu detected in a farm with 700 geese in Steyr

Steyr – The highly pathogenic form of bird flu (H5N1) was detected on Wednesday in a poultry farm with around 700 geese in Steyr. The state of Upper Austria announced this in a broadcast. A number of animals have already died, the remaining poultry are being killed on the orders of the magistrate. The affected farm is close to the Enns, where isolated wild birds that have died in recent weeks have tested positive for the virus.
