First book by Pope Leo XIV – peace and restraint as leitmotifs


The Pope’s book begins – how could it be otherwise – with the words that the visibly moved Robert Francis Prevost – Leo There, the new head of the Catholic Church expressed his hope for an “unarmed and disarming” peace that comes only from God, “who loves us all unconditionally.” In his short speech, the first pontiff from the USA used the word peace no less than seven times – and thus set the tone for his pontificate, and the first book, from the very first appearance.
