Tourists will have gotten lost in Torres del Paine National Park.
At least five tourists died in Chile, in a snowstorm in Torres del Paine National Park. The national disaster prevention and response service indicates that the other four tourists who were missing were found alive.
Juan Carlos Andrades, regional director of (Chile’s National Disaster Prevention and Response Service), said authorities are focused on “recovering the bodies of the five deceased.” But he warned that everything depends on the weather conditions.
Authorities say the group became lost in the national park after the area was hit by snow and winds that exceeded 193 kilometers per hour.
The tourists who lost their lives were of German, Mexican and British nationality.
