Suspect of shooting death of father and son in Montijo awaits trial in pre-trial detention

A 61-year-old man was placed in pre-trial detention on suspicion of having shot dead a father and son, aged 60 and 23 respectively, in a restaurant in Montijo last Sunday.

The man suspected of shooting two people, father and son, last Sunday, in a restaurant in Montijo, will await trial in preventive detention, a source from the Setúbal Judicial Police (PJ) said this Tuesday.

According to the PJ, the suspect, a 61-year-old man, was present on the same day for his first judicial interrogation at the Court of Barreiro, in the district of Setúbal, and the most serious coercive measure was applied to him, of preventive detention.

According to authorities, the two victims were still transported to the Barreiro hospital for resuscitation maneuvers, where they were declared death.
