The issuance of the new National Identity Card (CIN) continues to be recommended even for people over 60 years of age, which has an indefinite validity. Experts explain that old documents or the lack of a first copy can make basic procedures difficult, making regularization necessary.

With the CIN, Ms. Maria now has valid identification to request retirement, access social programs, update registrations and avoid problems in institutions that do not accept outdated documents.

The director of the Institute, Júnior César da Silva, highlighted that care for elderly people demonstrates the importance of civil identification for all age groups. According to him, the body works to ensure that the population has access to the document without difficulties.
