Elon Musk argued that Artificial Intelligence could bring about an unprecedented structural change in the way societies work, making work an option and not an obligation. The businessman addressed this topic during his participation in the US-Saudi Arabia Investment Forum, where he pointed to a future in which technological progress will overcome poverty and redefine the role of money in the global economy.
According to the head of Tesla and SpaceX, increasing automation and the development of highly autonomous systems will enable large-scale production capable of meeting the essential needs of the world’s population. This reality, from his perspective, will establish a new social model in which employment will no longer be the central axis of daily life.
Musk also highlighted that the impact of Artificial Intelligence could surpass that of all previous major technological revolutions, forcing governments and institutions to deeply review their economic policies, forms of income and structures of social participation.
