Trump eliminates tariffs on meat and coffee imports from Brazil

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order this Thursday (20) that determines the reduction of 40% tariffs imposed on the import of certain Brazilian agricultural products after November 13.

The products mentioned in the annex include coffee and beef.

The order will require the refund of taxes charged on Brazilian imports from this date onwards, according to a text released by the White House.

The action reverses the decree of July 30, which cited a “national emergency” due to the “unusual” and “extraordinary” policies and actions of the Brazilian government that, according to the Republican, harm American companies, the rights of freedom of expression of US citizens and the country’s foreign policy and economy, in general for charging surcharges.
