Even before the Russian invasion in February 2022, there were many efforts to end the war in Ukraine. This basically started in 2014, after the annexation of Crimea, with contracts in Minsk that were never implemented. Before and after the fighting began almost four years ago, European heads of state and government traveled to Moscow – in vain. Vladimir Putin dismissed everyone and established the bloody war of conquest as a means.
