Whatever I can do to defend amnesty, I will do, says Tarcísio

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), said he will do everything in his power to advance the amnesty agenda in the National Congress.

At a press conference this Tuesday (25), when asked about the matter, he said that he “always defended” amnesty.

“I have always defended amnesty and whatever I can do to defend it, I will do.”

When asked if former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the governor responded that he believes that the former president “doesn’t have his head in it”, but that, independently, “there is a group of people” committed to implementing the text.

“I’m going to work so that the amnesty is planned and approved, I’m not worried in that sense”, he added.
