Video: car is swept away during strong storms in Santa Catarina

Security cameras at a gas station recorded the moment when a car was swept away during strong storms that hit the city of Orleans, in the interior of Santa Catarina, on Friday night (28).

In the images it is possible to observe the moment when employees of the establishment They remove cones from the path so they don’t fly away.

Seconds later, the place is taken by wind and objects begin to be dragged across the gas station floor.

With the strength of the winds, a silver car was also dragged into the establishment. The driver tries to leave, but stops.

A storm hit the cities of Videira and Orleans, last Friday night (28), in the west of Santa Catarina. The cities suffered from rain and strong winds that caused damage and losses.

In Videira, six people were left homeless, four roads were closed and 50 homes were affected after the storm. In Orleans, two people were left homeless and ten homes were affected after strong rain and wind.

In the city, the storm knocked down trees, closed roads, damaged homes and the Videplast industry.

In Orleans, the storm destroyed the Police Station, around ten houses and two chicken farms.

The municipal Civil Defense and the Fire Department provided assistance.
