The 19-year-old Uzbek, like the second-placed Chinese Wei Yi and the third-placed Russian Andrei Jessipenko, has qualified for the Candidates Tournament to be held in Cyprus next spring, where the next challenger for world champion Dommaraju Gukesh will be determined.
