Arrest: State official allegedly paid for live streaming of child abuse


St. Pölten/Vienna – A high-ranking state official from Lower Austria has been arrested because he is said to have paid for live streaming of child abuse. The pre-trial detention was imposed on Sunday because of the risk of committing a crime, Christina Salzborn, spokeswoman for the Vienna Regional Court for Criminal Matters, confirmed upon request a report from the Crown newspaper (Thursday edition). The head of department had been suspended, the state administration said upon request.
