Audience for the 2026 World Cup is equivalent to 104 Super Bowls – 12/05/2025 – Sport

In a speech at the opening of the World Cup group draw ceremony, the president of FIFA (International Football Federation), Gianni Infantino, highlighted the magnitude expected for the event in terms of audience.

According to the director, seven million people are expected in the stadiums to watch the 104 World Cup matches between June 11 and July 19, in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“That’s 104 Super Bowls in one month,” Infantino said at the Kennedy Center in Washington. The Superdome stadium in New Orleans, which hosted the Super Bowl final in 2025, has a capacity for around 70,000 fans.

The FIFA president added that six billion people are expected to watch the tournament on TV. “What a wonderful summer we will have here. It will be unique, singular, spectacular”, celebrated Infantino.

United States President Donald Trump announced last month that the United States will speed up the issuance of visas for foreign visitors who have tickets to World Cup games, scheduled for next year in 11 American cities.
