The theft happened when Montenegro’s son was having dinner at a restaurant in Foz do Porto. The stolen equipment was recovered shortly afterwards by the PSP, in Pasteleira.

The car of Hugo Montenegro, the prime minister’s son, was robbed on the night of September 29, in the Foz area of ​​Porto, leading to the theft of a backpack with various computer equipment.

The material, including a laptop, two tablets and headphones, was recovered by PSP hours laterin the Pasteleira neighborhood, known by authorities as a critical point for drug trafficking and consumption.

The 24-year-old young man parked the BMW Series 4 on a ramp next to the Foz church at around 9:30 pm, before entering a nearby restaurant. When he returned about two hours later, he realized that the backpack was gone. The PSP was called to the scene at 11:45 pm and found that there were no signs of a break-in, leading agents to conclude that the vehicle may have been opened with a fake key or signal capture technology.

The complaint was formalized with the Criminal Investigation Division, which immediately activated the equipment geolocation systems Apple. The sign pointed to Bairro da Pasteleira, where many stolen objects are often exchanged for drugs. Hugo Montenegro, who did not respond to requests for comment, is manager of the consultancy company X Cope and, together with his brother, recently took over the ownership of Spinumvivaa family business previously owned by Luís Montenegro.
