The Federal Police (PF) indicted federal deputy Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO) on charges of embezzling funds from the parliamentary quota. In a video released on his social networks, the deputy denied committing irregularities and attributed the indictment to his position in favor of the impeachment of ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The information was revealed by CNN and confirmed by Estadão. According to the PF investigation, Gayer had allocated resources from his office’s quota in the Chamber of Deputies to a company linked to an ally.
The PF had launched an operation to deepen these suspicions in October last year. On that occasion, he seized R$70,000 in cash from an advisor to the parliamentarian.

In the indictment, the PF attributed crimes such as embezzlement (misappropriation of public resources), ideological falsehood and criminal association to the deputy.
In his statement on the matter, Gayer said that the resources from his parliamentary quota were invested in his political office and that, contrary to the Federal Police’s accusations, he did not carry out any private activity supported by the parliamentary quota.
“They’re saying that this was an English school and that I paid the rent for it with money from the parliamentary quota, but they can’t find proof that it was an English school. Then I’ll tell you the most absurd part, a Federal Police agent went there undercover to ask if it was an English school and the person at the reception said no, that it wasn’t an English school”, he stated.
The material was sent to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) about two weeks ago. The team of the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, will analyze whether there are enough elements to file a complaint against the parliamentarian or whether it would be necessary to carry out further steps to deepen the investigations.
