The Kremlin stated this Thursday, 11, that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and the leader of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, exchanged views by telephone on the future development of friendly relations between the countries, in line with the strategic partnership and cooperation agreement that came into force in November 2025.
“Putin expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people and reaffirmed his support for the Maduro government’s policy, which aims to protect national interests and sovereignty in the face of growing external pressure,” the statement said, without directly citing the United States.
The two sides further confirmed their mutual commitment to the consistent implementation of joint projects in the areas of trade, economy, energy, finance, culture and humanitarian aid.
