The damage from the storm that hit the city on Wednesday (12) continues to be accounted for this Friday (12). The Food Away from Home and Lodging sectors, for example, estimate that the loss could reach R$ 100 million, according to an estimate from which estimates that at least 5 thousand establishments between the regions of ABC Paulista, Osasco and Itapecerica da Serra and part of the interior have been affected. “Not today, Enel presents recurring problems in relation to the supply of electricity. This is already the seventh blackout in less than two years. The Food Away from Home and Accommodation sectors are hostage. There are few entrepreneurs who are able to use generators or relocate products in time to avoid losing food. It’s chaos! I ask: who pays the bill?”, asks the executive director of the Federation, executive director of Fhoresp, Edson Pinto.

According to the latest bulletin released by Enel, the energy supply company, around 689,000 people are still without power. “We are close to a weekend that should be one of high profitability for many establishments. But, for thousands of them, it will be days of closed doors, of sadness. It’s almost a mourning. And, I reinforce: who is responsible for all this loss? The businessman will, once again, pay the bill for a lack of responsibility and respect on the part of the energy concessionaire, which continues to do what it wants, without any sanction?”, says the executive director of Fhoresp.

The entity recommends that companies affected by the blackout gather as much evidence of the losses as possible, to take action and request compensation for days of non-operation, loss of goods, burned equipment, due to power fluctuations.
