Arrests due to suspected plans to attack a Christmas market in Bavaria


Munich/Dingolfing – Five men have been arrested because of suspected plans to attack a Christmas market in the Dingolfing area in Lower Bavaria (southern Germany). Arrest warrants were issued against four of them – one was taken into preventative custody, according to the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office on Saturday. It is currently based on Islamist motivation. The attack should therefore be carried out with a vehicle. According to the Attorney General’s Office, the presumption of innocence applies.
