Lawyer Natalia Szermeta Boulos, wife of the Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Guilherme Boulos, announced her pre-candidacy to run for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies in the 2026 elections.
In the announcement, published on social media, Natalia highlighted her career and the “fighting path” she has been building for more than 20 years. “Next year, we have two important tasks: reelecting President Lula and changing the National Congress, which today behaves like an enemy of the people. That’s why I accepted the challenge,” said the lawyer.
Natalia informed that she should run for the Chamber alongside state deputy Ediane Maria (PSOL-SP).

Currently, Natalia Boulos serves as PSOL’s organizational secretary and leader of the Homeless Workers Movement. The expectation is that she will inherit the votes of Boulos, who was the most voted federal deputy in São Paulo in 2022, with around 1 million voters.
Guilherme Boulos is expected to remain Lula’s minister until the end of his term and, in 2026, work on the president’s re-election campaign. During his inauguration as minister, the psolist stated that his objective was to bring the government closer to social movements and the streets.
