Cruzeiro: Jardim reveals Pedro Lourenço’s crying and reaction before termination

The technician Leonardo Jardim created a relationship with Pedro Lourenço beyond the professional scope. The Portuguese revealed that the businessman was moved by the hug before the coach’s farewell press conference, this Monday (15), at Toca da Raposa II. Jardim took the opportunity to exalt the affection he has for the celestial SAF manager.

“Farewells are always emotional, (especially) when we like people… When I was talking to the president this morning, we were hugging each other and crying. It’s always emotional when we have affection for people. When we feel it. With the players too”, said Jardim.

Jardim and Pedro Lourenço’s relationship goes far beyond Cruzeiro. The two became great friends and even enjoyed time off together in Escarpas do Lago, in Capitolio. Furthermore, the Portuguese has already participated in the opening of the ‘Supermercados BH’ unit, something atypical and unusual in the relationship between club president and coach.

Leonardo Jardim also cited the good relationship with the players. The Portuguese stated that he always tried to be fair to everyone, even giving fewer minutes to certain athletes. Still during his speech, the commander admitted that he will maintain contacts with some of the players he commanded at Cruzeiro.

“All the players know that I tried to get the best out of them. I was always fair with them. Even though some played more, others played less. And I was always consistent in my decisions. Decisions with consistency, is an important word in football and in life. Consistent with what we think and say”, continued the commander.
